TARC Sweet heart Dinner

This year's TARC Sweetheart Dinner is set for Sunday afternoon, February 17, at The Fruityard restaurant.

The annual Sweetheart Dinner is our chance to thank our long-suffering spouses for letting us spend so much time with the club, and ham radio. It promises to be an enjoyable romantic dinner.  Singles are also welcome!

This year's menu features either Roast Beef or Chicken Piccata, your choice.  The cost is only $29 per person, and includes iced tea, coffee, dessert, tax, gratuity, and everything else you could need for the meal.

Reservations need to be made by February 10.  Mail your check and reservation to Janet or Mike Siegel, and include your preference for Chicken or Beef:

Janet & Mike Siegel

Subject:  TARC Update

A “ Get Well Soon” to Curtis,KG6UCW.  Curtis was injured when he fell from a roof and fractured his hip.  If you hear him on the radio, say hello and let him know we are all praying for his health.

TARC monthly meeting Tuesday, 2/12/2008 at 7:15pm.  Held in the War Memorial building on Canal Street in Turlock.

I thought I’d put out an update since we had a meeting last night and it would be a good idea to bring those that couldn’t attend up to date.  The weather last night was cold and wet which I think kept people away.

This-mail will go to every one the club roster as well as everyone on the CWH e-mail list.  I have made every attempt to eliminate dups between the two, so if you get more than one of these e-mails, let me know.

The 7:15pm start time for the meeting will only continue through February and then it will go back to 7:30pm.

Coffee with a Ham will continue at the new location of the Merced Mall Food Court Saturday mornings at 8:30am. Curtis indicated your best bet is to park in the back of the mall and come into the food court.  If there is anything from that meeting that you would like to add to this e-mail, just let me know.

Because we cover such a wide area, I think we should consider another CWH session in Turlock at an easy to locate spot.  We could do Turlock once a month.  Let me know what you think.  I can be reached via e-mail ww6xx@arrl.net or by phone 209-534-5621.  I am still working on this, but the holidays got in the way.  I have had suggestions of Starbucks ( good coffee), Mickey Dees (near the freeway at Main), and Latif’s in downtown Turlock.  Let me know what you think.

If anyone has a question about HAM radio, send it to me and I’ll include it with the next e-mail and post any responses in the e-mail after that.

David, KI6JDE, is net control on the 75 meter net for the Turlock Amateur Radio Club(TARC)  This net is held weekly on Tuesday nights at 7:00 PM on 3.942 MHz +/- except the second Tuesday of the month which is the club meeting night. The TARC 2 meter net on 147.030 MHz follows at 7:30 PM. Listen on 3.942 MHz then jump into the 2 meter net. At 147.030 MHZ (+) (103.5) TARC needs the support of this endeavor. If you would like to be net control please contact Curtis, KG6UCW. He would like to get others to participate and be involved as net controllers. Try it - it is fun.  Don’t forget that TARC has a WEB page with lots of good info.  Check it out at www.w6bxn.org.

Do you have any news, coming events that you would like to share with the group?  Send them to me and I will add them to this mailing.

Do you have any "wants, trades, or sell" items? If you have any new needs in any of these areas please send me an email with the item, your call, and how you would like to be contacted. I will run the information for a couple of weeks. I need the information by Tuesday to make the next e-mail.  If the item is no longer available, let me know so I can take it off the list.

Lastly, if anyone would like to be added to the mailing list please provide me with their name, call sign (if they have one), and their email address. I will be glad to add them. This is a good way for new people interested in the hobby to get some information about HAM radio.. If anyone would like to an e-mail address send me an email with your correct name and email address. I will update you on the list.  If an e-mail is returned as undeliverable, that address will be removed from the list.  I will list deleted e-mail info in the following e-mail.
